Cyclocross Bike – Blue Norcross SL

I got my bike cleaned up before packing it for CrossVegas and the evening light was perfect so I rode across the street (literally) to the for a few pictures.

2010 Blue Competition Cycles Norcross SL

I’ve got last year’s review available as well with a detailed look at the bike for further reading. The main upgrad for this year is the wheels and tires.  The bike is 16.7 pounds as you see it.  If I had a bigger budget, I would swap the stock bars for a shallow drop handle bar (Ritchey WCS Curve probably), and I would like to try some different brakes (The TRP EuroX are better than what I’ve used before, but still leave me wanting more stopping power).  Other than that, it is a perfect elite-level race bike and I’m excited to use it for another year.

About Russell

I have been racing bicycles for a decade. This blog will chronicle my efforts as a Category 1 road racer lining up with the pros.

In regards to you turning Pro, maybe go for the “low hanging fruit”? Meaning, try to go PRO in mtn biking, Cross, or some other form of cycling racing, instead of road. At least for now. I can’t think of one great TdF rider that started out as a PRO mtn biker……oh wait!! haha. Anyhow, explore all options, some might actually have enough money to make this ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ run worth it. good luck.
